| | Jobs | | The history of Damen Shipyards Galati (Romania) dates back to the year 1893 when the yard was established under the name Santierul Naval Fernic Galati (Fernic Shipyard Galati), based in the town of Galati along the impressive Danube River, this yard has developed into one of the main production yards of the Damen Shipyards Group.
In 1994, Damen started co-operating with Galati by subcontracting hulls of cargo vessels. This co-operation worked out very well and in 1999 the Damen Shipyards Group acquired the yard. An ambitious investment plan was introduced which mainly focused on the improvement of the efficiency and the working conditions. The yard was transformed into a modern and top quality shipyard with the capability to build a broad range of products.
Our focus is very much on achieving high efficiency by making use of modern production methods within a competitive environment. Upgrading of the yard's production facilities is a continuous process, witch enhances quality, productivity and competitiveness.
